Last 30, october 2018, in BALI (Indonesia) a global commitment to reduce plastic waste and pollution at source has bee signed by 290 organizations includig brands, retailers, packaging producers, recyclers as well as governements and NCOs.
The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment is led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in collaboration with UN Environment.
Signatories include companies representing 20 percent of all plastic packaging produced globally including H&M, Danone, H&M, Mars Incorporated, L’Oréal, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and Unilever plus major packaging producer Amcor and plastics producer Novamont.
More than 15 financial institutions with over US$2.5 trillion in assets under management have endorsed the Global Commitment and over US$200 million has been pledged by five venture capital funds to create a specific circular economy for plastic.
